Dylan's best song is presented in a simple, sparse, emotive and thrilling version. The lyric doesn't change but he sings in a more world-weary and breathless manner. The accompaniment stays behind the vocal but stepping up when there is room. The Dobro is said to be played by Daniel Lanois and is very tasty. Just read his Wiki entry, quite a CV but not much lately. Maybe need an update. Sounds like an interesting movie to check out. Here Is What Is - Buy Here
The song adds it all up and the answer is a happy ending. Even though our days are numbered, the singer has "nothing but affection for all those who've sailed with him". It is so easy to drop into sarcasm, disappointment and disgust. Life goes on and either it is lived or endured.
